Friday odds and ends

I don’t how I’ve missed the blog Making It Lovely for so long, but it pretty much rocks.  Anyone who can use shrinky dinks to make chic accessories is #1 in my book.

So, you know how pigeons are all vile and disgusting?  Well look at these nifty necklaces made from the little ankle thingies of racing pigeons over at Chinny Chin Chin.  They even come with “pigeon papers” so you can learn a little about the bird who sported your ankle doo-hickey.  Maybe they aren’t so terrible after all.  They’re actually downright fashionable, the little flying bastards.

And finally, a little Spring for you.  It is Spring, right?  I thought it was, but somedays (like today) I wonder if we aren’t still in November.  In any case, I love all the Spring colors in stores these days because it gives me hope that someday the sun will come out and the temperature will stay above 60 degrees for more than one or two days at a time.  I was at Nordstrom over lunch and saw the Spring collection from Kate Spade and had to admit that I actually really liked it.  Her purses aren’t normally my cup of tea, but I do love the solid leather pieces.   Totally out of my budget, but I’m sure old Sam Moon will come out with some Spate Kades that are more in my price range.
